Buat Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), dan Toll Road (Randy Couture) misi berbahaya bukanlah pekerjaan baru. Mereka adalah tim serdadu bayaran yang telah melanglang buana mengerjakan tugas yang tak mungkin dilakukan pemerintah.
Saat muncul tawaran untuk melakukan sebuah misi di Vilena, Barney, sang pemimpin, mengira bahwa ini adalah misi biasa. Misi ini sebenarnya ditawarkan pada Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger) namun karena Trench punya agenda lain, Mr Church (Bruce Willis) memberikan misi ini pada Barney dan timnya. Misinya sederhana, Barney dan timnya hanya harus menggulingkan kekuasaan Jenderal Garza (David Zayas), sang diktator brutal. Karena tak lagi percaya pada Gunnar, Barney terpaksa memberhentikan Gunnar.
Dalam menjalankan misi ini Barney akan dipandu oleh Sandra (Gisele Itié) yang ternyata adalah putri Jenderal Garza yang tak setuju pada tindakan ayahnya. Sayangnya misi ini jadi rumit karena Garza ternyata mendapat dukungan dari agen CIA bernama James Munroe (Eric Roberts). Saat misi jadi berantakan dan Sandra tertangkap Barney tak punya pilihan untuk lari namun di saat yang sama Barney juga merasa bersalah telah meninggalkan Sandra, terutama saat Tool (Mickey Rourke) mengungkapkan kisah pribadinya saat di Bosnia.
Tak ingin didera perasaan bersalah, Barney memutuskan kembali untuk menyelamatkan Sandra. Agaknya para anggota Barney tak mau membiarkan atasan mereka kembali sendiri dan dimulailah misi penyelamatan yang bukan hanya berbahaya namun berisiko gagal total. Apalagi ternyata ada pembelot di dalam tim Barney.
Sekelumit kisah di atas jelas sudah akrab di telinga para penggemar film laga. Kisah yang sama juga ditawarkan banyak film sebelumnya, termasuk THE LOSERS yang baru saja kita nikmati. Kalau kisah bisa disebut biasa-biasa saja, lantas apa kekuatan THE EXPENDABLES ini? Jawabnya jelas para pemainnya. Ini adalah film laga all stars! Sayangnya, hanya itu yang ditawarkan film besutan Sylvester Stallone ini.
Tanpa casting berkilau seperti ini, bisa jadi THE EXPENDABLES hanya akan berakhir seperti kebanyakan film laga yang dibuat straight ti DVD. Dengan skenario yang bisa dibilang generik, plus pembentukan karakter yang kurang dalam membuat film ini memang murni jadi suguhan buat mata. Stallone pun seolah berusaha memberikan porsi yang sama besar untuk semua bintang walaupun Arnold Schwarzenegger dan Bruce Willis hanya kebagian peran cameo saja.
Soal akting, ini memang film Stallone tapi kalau mau jujur, sebenarnya malah Statham yang terlihat lebih bersinar diikuti oleh karakter Lundgren, Jet Li, dan Rourke. Selebihnya terasa biasa-biasa saja. Namun karena ini memang film laga, jadi sepertinya semua pertimbangan di atas bisa dikesampingkan. Selama banyak darah berceceran, bom meledak, mayat bergelimpangan, dan para jagoan yang saling hajar, penonton pasti sudah puas.(kpl/roc)

SALT = zero stars
“Re-Heating The Cold War”
Angelina Jolie is a double (or triple) agent in the new action spy thriller “Salt”. I was astonished by its stupidity. Even by the fact that the script, director and the actors were all taking it so seriously. How did they keep a straight face without cracking up?
I can’t discuss the plot at all without spoilers, so sorry. I’ll just tell you what you already know from the promos. Jolie plays CIA agent Evelyn Salt who is suspected of possibly being a Russian spy. A great premise and ever so timely now that Russian spies are back in the news. Is the Cold War heating up again?
This movie is wall-to-wall action and never pauses to catch its breath. Clearly “Salt” wants to be a female ‘Bourne’ franchise. But the ‘Bourne’ films had intelligence. “Salt” isn’t operating on even a single brain cell.
The action is cartoonish. The stunts defy logic. The dialogue could have been written by a 6th grader after a viewing of “War Games”. And then there’s the usually reliable James Newton Howard giving us one of his worst scores ever making street drilling sound more symphonic by comparison.
Back in 1989, director Phillip Noyce showed such promise with the thriller “Dead Calm”. That movie contained only three actors (including Nicole Kidman) who are stuck out at sea on a disabled boat. It showed that Noyce certainly has a feel for the less-is-more formula. But with “Salt” he pours it on heavy. More never seems to be enough.
Even the make-up defies logic. Blood and bruises are everywhere on Jolie’s body except her trademark lips always remain moist and untouched. Oh, and her hair never seems to look less than cover-girl perfect even after jumping off a freeway overpass onto a speeding tanker truck.
“Salt” is a major disappointment on every level. It arrives unsalted and completely nuts!
DVD Double Feature: A computer simulation of a Russian nuclear missile attack is mistaken for the real thing in the classic 1983 thriller “War Games”. Matthew Broderick is a high school kid who accidentally taps into the government’s missile defense computer to play a game. Some of the dialogue in “Salt” during a potential missile-launching moment seems to have been lifted right out of this screenplay.

Dalam waktu singkat hampir seluruh manusia telah berubah menjadi vampire dan ini menimbulkan masalah baru. Siapa yang akan mereka mangsa jika manusia habis?
Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) seorang ilmuwan yang telah menjadi vampire mau tak mau harus berusaha keras untuk mencari cara untuk mengatasi makin langkanya manusia yang menjadi sumber kehidupan mereka. Kalau manusia musnah maka mau tak mau kaum vampire akan kehilangan sumber makanan dan akan punah juga.
Para vampire ini telah membuat sebuah sistem untuk memanfaatkan darah manusia sampai tetes terakhir tanpa harus membuangnya dengan sia-sia namun tetap saja itu tak cukup karena suatu saat darah yang ada di dalam tubuh manusia ini akan habis. Kini para vampire ini dihadapkan satu dilema: mencari pengganti makanan atau berusaha menyelamatkan manusia dari kepunahan, sesuatu yang sebenarnya mereka awali sendiri.
Wabah vampire memang sedang melanda dunia. Suksesnya UNDERWORLD yang diikuti dengan munculnya TWILIGHT membuat legenda lama yang sudah ada sejak ribuan tahun yang lalu ini jadi mewabah. Masing-masing sutradara pun berusaha menawarkan penafsiran mereka terhadap makhluk abadi yang hidup dari darah manusia ini termasuk DAYBREAKERS ini. Kalau harus membandingkan DAYBREAKERS ini dengan dua film bergenre vampire tersebut di atas, barangkali yang satu ini lebih condong ke arah UNDERWORLD.
Kalau UNDERWORLD mencoba menggali perseteruan antara kaum vampire dan werewolf yang sudah berusia ribuan tahun dalam konteks modern, DAYBREAKERS ini justru memilih berandai-andai. Bagaimana seandainya seluruh dunia ini dilanda virus yang mengubah manusia menjadi vampire dan manusia malah jadi kaum minoritas? Apa yang terjadi dengan teknologi apabila vampire yang berkuasa di muka bumi?
Hasil imajinasi dua sutradara bersaudara, Michael Spierig dan Peter Spierig inilah yang menjadi dasar dari DAYBREAKERS ini. Namun tentu saja kita tidak hanya diajak berandai-andai. Ada metafora di sana. Kalau mau sedikit jeli, sebenarnya kita bisa berkaca pada film ini dan melihat problema yang kita hadapi saat ini dalam film ini. Teknologi sekarang pun sedang berusaha mencari pengganti minyak bumi yang makin habis, sama seperti para vampire yang berusaha mencari pengganti darah manusia.
Terlepas dari pesan moral yang berusaha disampaikan ini, DAYBREAKERS tetaplah sebuah tontonan yang menarik. Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, dan Claudia Karvan bermain meyakinkan sebagai karakter yang mereka bawakan sementara alur cerita pun cukup enak untuk diikuti. Jangan berharap menonton film sekualitas Oscar karena film ini adalah film yang dibuat untuk menghibur.(kpl/roc)

kapanlagi.com, Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) mungkin tak pernah mengira kalau ia akan sering berurusan dengan makhluk-makhluk gaib dari dimensi lain. Tapi ketika panggilan itu datang, Solomon tak punya pilihan selain mengabdikan dirinya untuk memburu dan memusnahkan makhluk-makhluk jahat ini walaupun itu artinya ia harus berkeliling dunia dalam misi sucinya ini.
Solomon awalnya adalah serdadu Ratu Elizabeth I yang ditugaskan di Afrika. Sebagai seorang serdadu bayaran pekerjaan Solomon memang tak jauh dari urusan mencabut nyawa. Itu semua ia lakukan tanpa ada penyesalan sampai suatu saat ia bertemu makhluk gaib bernama The Reaper (Ian Whyte). Pertemuan ini mengubah hidup Solomon dan ia memutuskan untuk kembali ke Inggris.
Solomon lantas mengabdikan hidupnya untuk Tuhan dan berharap mendapat pengampunan atas dosa-dosa yang telah ia lakukan selama menjadi serdadu bayaran. Sayang, takdir Solomon sepertinya bukan di sana. Tak lama berselang Solomon kembali tergoda untuk mengangkat pedang. Kali ini bukan untuk membunuh sesama manusia tapi untuk memburu makhluk-makhluk jahat dari dimensi lain.
Film laga bertema supranatural seperti ini biasanya diasosiasikan dengan film-film kelas dua yang artinya tak memerlukan penggarapan terlalu rumit. Yang diperlukan hanyalah CGI yang meyakinkan dan selebihnya hanyalah cerita sederhana untuk merangkai beberapa adegan dramatis yang memang sudah direncanakan dari awal. Tak bisa disalahkan karena memang kebanyakan film seperti ini memang punya titik lemah di bagian itu.
Tapi sepertinya kita harus membuat pengecualian untuk film berjudul SOLOMON KANE ini. Ada beberapa poin yang membuat film ini jadi berbeda. Misalnya saja sang sutradara yang mampu mengarahkan para aktornya untuk mencapai hasil yang maksimal. James Purefoy mungkin memang nama baru tapi kemampuan aktingnya tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata. Karakter Solomon Kane yang melewati masa transisi dari seorang pria jahat menjadi seorang pahlawan pun bisa diterjemahkan dengan baik oleh James Purefoy.
Dari sisi visual, SOLOMON KANE memang tak bisa dibilang yang terbaik karena ini sepertinya menyangkut soal dana yang dikucurkan untuk membiayai produksi film ini. Terlepas dari dana yang tak terlalu besar, SOLOMON KANE ini masih termasuk memadai. Alur kisah memang masih tetap sederhana seperti pada kebanyakan film sejenis tapi kalau mau jujur, film seperti ini memang tak memerlukan naskah yang rumit.(kpl/roc)

Jangan Anda kira lagu-lagu modern dapat Anda nikmati di dalam film yang menjadi pembuka Festival Film Cannes. Hanya ada lantunan lagu-lagu tradisional Inggris yang akan menenggelamkan Anda ke dalam legenda Robin Hood, si penjahat kelas kakap yang bermarkas di hutan Sherwood.
Ridley Scott, sutradara Gladiator asal Inggris, sejak awal ingin mengangkat dongeng rakyat Inggris di abad ke-16 ini secara utuh. Ada beberapa penggalan kisah yang tak pernah terangkat, yakni siapa sebenarnya Robin Hood? Mengapa dia didapuk menjadi penjahat kelas kakap di bawah kekuasaan Raja John pascakematian Raja Richard ‘Si Hati Singa’?
Dalam film yang dibintangi Russel Crowe dan Cate Blanchett, semua dikemas ala cerita rakyat yang diangkat ke layar kaca. Keindahan tanah Inggris, hutan hijau, dan semenanjung pantai selatan digambarkan nyata dan membawa Anda ke masa tahun 1600an. Namun melihat Russel Crowe dalam balutan baju perang tentara kehormatan Koloni Inggris, menjadikan bayangan Crowe dalam perannya di Gladiator juga hadir di sini. Tak heran, Crowe dan Scott telah bekerja sama sejak bermain dalam Gladiator.
Alkisah, Robin Hood ternyata hanyalah seorang pemanah di pasukan Raja Richard dalam Perang Salib ke Palestina. Dalam perjalanan pulang melewati Prancis, Raja Richard benar-benar berhasrat menaklukkan kerajaan Prancis di bawah pimpinan Raja Phillip. Raja Richard pun sempat mengenal pribadi Robin Longstride, setelah dia berkelahi dengan Little John, musuh yang kemudian menjadi partnernya.
Lalu dalam penyerangan ke Kastil Prancis, Raja Richard pun terkena anak panah pasukan musuh. Dokter yang ikut dalam pasukan Raja Richard pun menyatakan, Si Hati Singa telah gugur di medan perang. Robin ‘Hood’ Longstride paham usai kematian raja akan terjadi kekacauan di pasukan Inggris. Dengan mengajak Little John, Will, dan Alan, serta beberapa rekan lainnya, Robin menuntun mereka pergi ke selatan Prancis, yang diketahui kalau ada kapal kerajaan yang menunggu.
Cerita yang sangat kompleks menggambarkan kalau ada pembelot di kerajaan Inggris yang menjadi informan ke Raja Phillips. Awalnya Ibu suri (ibunda raja Richard dan Pangeran John) menengarai informan ini adalah istri kedua John, Isabella of Angoulême (Léa Seydoux). Tapi siapa sangka, ternyata sahabat Pangeran John sendirilah yang menjadi informan dan bahkan memecah belah masyarakat Inggris.
Singkat cerita, Robin pun bisa kembali ke Inggris setelah menekuk pasukan Prancis yang sengaja menghalangi perjalanan Sir Walter Loxley, tangan kanan Raja Richard, untuk membawa pulang mahkota sang raja. Loxley gugur di perjalanan. Jadilah Robin dan teman-teman menyamar menjadi pasukan kerajaan yang ditugaskan mengirim mahkota, sehingga bisa masuk ke dalam kapal kerajaan.
Di sinilah muncul Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), perempuan yang membuat Robin jatuh hati kepadanya. Lady Marion adalah perempuan yang kuat dan juga ksatria tangguh. Meskipun menantu dari orang terkaya di Pepper, Nottingham, dia adalah perempuan yang setia.
Sebaiknya Anda menyempatkan diri menonton film epik Inggris ini. Sedikit merogoh kocek di akhir pekan tidak akan membuat Anda rugi. Pasalnya, film yang berdurasi 2 jam ini memang bisa menenggelamkan Anda ke dalam peperangan klasik dua negara koloni terbesar, Prancis dan Inggris. Dalam film ini juga banyak percakapan dalam bahasa Prancis. Tak heran, jika film ini kemudian diputuskan menjadi film pembuka di Cannes, Prancis.
Film ini juga tidak menyinggung patriotisme rakyat Prancis tentunya. Namun semangat nasionalisme rakyat Inggris tergambar di akhir cerita, saat Raja Phillips memimpin langsung pasukannya untuk menyerbu Inggris, setelah si pengkhianat kerajaan Inggris, Godfrey, mengatakan Inggris telah terpecah belah karena para bangsawan di Utara dan Selatan akan menyerang Buckingham.
Bagaimana lengkapnya cerita ini? Tonton saja! Ingat, jangan pernah membayangkan alur cerita Robin Hood ‘Kevin Costner’. Biarkan imajinasi Anda lepas sejak detik pertama film ini diputar. Inilah kisah sejati Robin Hood, seperti Ridley Scott menyatakan: The Untold Story of Robin Longstride, sebelum menjadi Robin Hood dan hidup damai di dalam Hutan Sherwood.

Eli (Denzel Washington) telah melakukan perjalanan selama 30 tahun, berjalan ke barat di seluruh Amerika setelah perang dahsyat yang mengubah bumi menjadi gurun total. Dunia telah menjadi sebuah peradaban tanpa hukum di mana orang harus membunuh atau dibunuh. Jalan tandus milik geng pemotong leher yang merampok dan membunuh untuk air, sepasang sepatu, ringan, atau hanya untuk bersenang-senang. Nice quote! What can I say about the movie? Novelnya sendiri sudah terbukti laris abis, apalagi remaja jaman sekarang lebih memikirkan romantisme antara setan dan manusia, omong kosong yang diperjuangkan mati-matian atas nama cinta.
Seperti film remaja lainnya, film ini lebih menggambarkan Ms. and Mr. perfect yang seakan menjadi pasangan paling serasi di dunia. Bertemu dengan diawali oleh berbagai macam konflik diantara mereka, bersatu untuk kemudian menghadapi cobaan terberat cinta mereka, untuk kemudian bahagia forever ever after? Wah basi banget plot cerita seperti itu. Terlalu biasa, datar dan cenderung tidak berkembang.
Menonton Twilight sama sekali gak perlu mikir karena dari awal sampai akhir jalan cerita mengalir begitu saja, monoton, cenderung mengulur-ulur waktu tanpa ada gejolak yang berarti sedikit pun.
Hampir semua konsep tentang vampir diubah disini, yah . . . Kecuali bagian kalau mereka sanggup menebar pesona dan fakta kalau namanya vampir pasti menghisap darah.
Tapi bagian vampir yang takut kena matahari karena akan terbakar, malah jadi berbalik aneh. Vampirnya malah jadi kinclong kalo kena matahari? Please deh apa gak ada ide yang lebih baik dari itu?
Lucunya, nonton Twilight seperti liat felm silat dari China jaman dulu, jagoannya berdua loncat-loncatan di pohon gak keruan. Payah. Mending nonton Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon kalo gitu mah, lebih seru.
Berantemnya juga culun abies. Bener-bener gak seru gak bikin tegang. Nonton smackdown masih mending. Masa film Hollywood yang laen berantemnya dah canggih abiez, ini cuman gebuk-gebukan gitu, malah gak ada gebuk-gebukannya lagi. Dan tiba-tiba saja Jagoannya menang. Duh!
Pengennya sih menonjolkan kelebihan si vampir, tapi caranya kuno dan sudah gak keren. Jaman gini bikin film begitu doang mah gak ada bagusnya. Basi.
Hanya bermodalkan bukunya yang laris, terus aktor dan aktris nya yang barbie, filmnya langsung terkenal dan laris manis. Padahal kalau kita liat gak ada satupun yang spesial kecuali aktor dan aktrisnya yang barbie itu.
Tapi tetep aja ABG atau mantan ABG yang perempuan pas nonton gak bisa diem kegatelan liat si vampir. NORAK.
The movie starts with Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) struggling to surface in a frosted river while also narrating. The film then cuts to one week earlier, showing Max working as a clerk in the cold-case unit and his obsession with finding the fleeing killer who brutally murdered his wife, Michelle, and newborn daughter. Max then attends a party run by his snitch, Trevor Duncan, where he meets Natasha Sax (Olga Kurylenko) and her sister, Mona (Mila Kunis). Natasha and Max go back to his place where she demonstrates her desire to have sex and even offers to act as Max's deceased wife. An upset Max asks Natasha to leave and while she is walking in a alleyway and talking to her drug dealer on the phone, she is hunted, attacked and killed by a mysterious flying entity.
The next day, Max goes with his former partner Alex Balder (Donal Logue) to investigate her murder. Alex then reveals Max's wallet was found at the crime scene and that he is the prime suspect. Back in his office, Alex discovers that a tattoo of wings found on Natasha's arm is similar to the one on the arm of one of Michelle's murderers, killed at the crime scene. He tries to call Max to reveal his finding, but in vain as he's answered by his voice mail. Max receives his message and rushes to his apartment, only to find Alex dead. Suddenly, he is attacked and thrown around until he blacks out. Max wakes up in hospital beside his mentor B.B. Hensley (Beau Bridges). Max goes to Alex's house to offer his condolences but is forced to leave by his wife Christa Balder (Nelly Furtado), stating that Max has always pushed away everyone who ever cared about him. Later, Max again meets Mona Sax, who believes he killed Natasha, but Max convinces her that they are both looking for someone else. After storming into Alex's precinct and searching through his partner's investigation files, Max learns that a man named Owen Greene was the last person Natasha called before her death.
The scene shifts to crime boss Jack Lupino (Amaury Nolasco) who has become unstable and increasingly berserk due to addiction to the drug Valkyr. He gives the drug to another wing-tattoed junkie and shortly afterwards kills him. Max and Mona find Owen Greene's apartment but hear him screaming. Owen has also become unstable and hallucinated due to Valkyr and backs away from Max and Mona towards the edge of the apartment. He is then pulled by a demonic creature on wings and falls to his death. Max and Mona go to see a tattooist who did Natasha's tattoos; when asked about the winged tattoo, he tells that it is the wing of a Valkyrie, the Norse mythological deity that carried to Heaven only those that died violently in combat. Max then arrives at Aesir Pharmaceuticals headquarters, Michelle's former workplace, to talk with her former supervisor, Jason Colvin (Chris O'Donnell). After brutally beating him up and even holding him at gun point, Colvin reveals everything. He explains that Michelle was working on a big military-related project with Aesir's CEO, Nicole Horne (Kate Burton) concerning the development of a stamina-enhancing drug for soldiers. Colvin also reveals that the drug only worked in 1% of the test subjects and the remaining suffered severe traumatic hallucinations about demonic creatures. Colvin tells Max that everything he wants to know is inside an envelope Colvin has been carrying around. Max and Colvin attempt to escape but a S.W.A.T team arrives, after being alerted by Colvin's secretary. Colvin is purposely shot dead but Max manages to escape with the envelope, amidst a shooting spree, not before a brief encounter with Jim Bravura (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges), an internal affairs agent.
Mona later finds Max in a abandoned warehouse, watching the video inside Colvin's package. It is revealed that Aesir Pharmaceuticals was the company manufacturing Valkyr for the military. It was a drug created for the purpose of enhancing a soldier's ability in combat and to control their fears. It is also revealed that, before becoming unstable and a rampage killer, Jack Lupino was a former sergeant who volunteered for Valkyr testing; in the video interview, Lupino stated that "he felt invincible" and "suffered no side effects". Mona tells Max that Lupino's lair is at Ragna Rock. Subsequently, Max goes there and successfully kills all of Lupino's henchmen with ease. Max then encounters Lupino, who attempts to force the drug into Max's body. Before he can, he is shot dead by B.B.. While leaving Ragna Rock with B.B., Max is knocked unconscious by B.B.'s assistant. Max is then showed walking handcuffed between B.B. and his assistant, who confesses he is the lead manufacturer of Valkyr and the runaway killer that Max has been searching for. B.B. and his partner then attempt to eliminate Max. Making him look like an drug-addicted suicidal by slipping two vials of the Valkyr drug in his jacket pocket, and then attempting to drown him in a freezing river. Max sinks to the bottom as we saw in the opening scene of the movie, but only the thought of his wife and daughter give him the strength to struggle and he barely makes it out alive. In order to combat freezing to death, he ingests the two vials of Valkyr that B.B. had earlier put in his jacket. The effects are felt immediately as he revives his strength and anger and hallucinates with the demonic winged creatures as seen by Valkyr-consuming subjects, which are revealed to be the mythological Valkyries.
A strengthened and berserk Max then rushes to Aesir Pharmaceuticals to kill B.B., but amidst all the shooting and due to his increasing hallucinations, Max is almost killed by one of B.B.'s security team members, before Mona arrives, saves Max and offers to hold the rest off until he reaches his former mentor. B.B. has arranged a helicopter to evacute him while his assistant tries to blow up the rooftop access with explosives. Mona fatally wounds the assistant, but he still manages to blow up the floor he is on. Max catches up with B.B. and, despite being shot twice, he shoots B.B. dead. Max then slumps near the edge of the building and the dark, snowy, cloudy city sky is now clearing up and the sun appears shining on Max's face. He then experiences a flashback of himself, his wife and daughter and the film ends with Michelle saying "Not yet, Max."
There is a post credit scene, where Max Payne meets up with Mona Sax at a bar. There is no dialogue between Mona and Max, Mona just gives Max a newspaper article that has Aesir's CEO, Nicole Horne on it with the headline "Aesir stock soars" (or something like that). Max and Mona give each other a look of pleasure knowing who is going to be next.

News of selecting the Dragon Warrior is sent out from the Jade Temple, and the whole city along with Po, go to the celebration. The competition is between the Furious Five: Tigress (voice Angelina Jolie), Viper (voice Lucy Liu), Crane (voice David Cross), Monkey (voice Jackie Chan), and Mantis (voice Seth Rogen). Po accidentally enters the contest and is named the Dragon Warrior. Master Shifu (voice Dustin Hoffman) must find a way to train Po and make him a Kung Fu Master, especially, after they learn that the snow leopard, Tai Lung (voice Ian McShane), is headed their way. Personal Comment: Nih film membosankan, hampir gak ada hal yang baru, bahkan jurus-jurus silatnya juga agak basi. Jalan cerita klasik dan juga ending yang ampun deh flat abis. Raja musuh masa bisa kalah gitu doang. Alasan gw nonton cuman pengen liat gimana kalo Jet Li ketemu Jacky Chan, gak taunya gak begitu oke. Lebih baik nonton film mereka sendiri-sendiri, karakteristik masing-masing orangnya lebih kelihatan.
Entah kenapa, setelah semua artis China ke Hollywood, kualitas cerita film mereka jadi menurun drastis, sebut saja Chow Yun Fat dengan the Replacement Killernya, atau Jet Li dengan The One, dan sekarang Forbidden Kingdom menambah daftar hitam film2 Hollywood tidak berkualitas lainnya.

U.S. Navy pilots Ben Gannon (Josh Lucas), Henry Purcell (Jamie Foxx), and Kara Wade (Jessica Biel) are the best of the best. Captain George Cummings (Sam Shepard) chose them out of 400 pilots to fly the next generation of stealth fighter jets called Talons. After their flight training in the Talons, they have become a cohesive unit and a highly efficient fighting team. Captain Cummings adds a new "wingman" to the team, an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) that is being flown by "EDI", a computer with an artificial intelligence brain mounted in a ball inside the cockpit. On their first mission, EDI begins to learn the skills and attitudes of the other pilots, and quickly understands that he can fly the plane better and faster than men. EDI has the capability to process data faster, and under extreme speeds will not blackout. Returning to the aircraft carrier, EDI is struck by lightning, which begins to change the computer's circuits. On the next flight, EDI refuses to scrub a mission despite the potential for massive civilian casualties. Upon return to base, Ben implores Captain Cummings to remove EDI from duty for further testing; Cummings ignores Ben's objections, and EDI's computer tech (who was beginning to suspect EDI was going rogue) is mysteriously replaced by much more docile techs. EDI begins to think for itself, and assigns itself a mission to take out a radical element in China. EDI cuts his link with the flight controller on the carrier, and he will not take a direct order from Ben. Henry locates and chases EDI, and gives it an ultimatum: return to base, or he will take it out. EDI declines to return to base. Henry fires his missiles, misses EDI, and is himself killed by the explosions. If you thought it was unbelievable up 'til now, it gets worse. Back on the carrier, Captain Cummings, in cahoots with his political advisor, decides to destroy EDI, the pilots, and Dr. Orbit, the creator of the plane's AI, to cover up the fiasco. Kara's plane was damaged in the explosion, and she must return to the carrier; en route, her engines fail, she ejects and is injured on her descent, crashing in North Korea. Pursued by N. Korean soldiers, Kara struggles toward the S. Korean border. Meanwhile, Ben chases EDI and manages to talk it back under control. Cummings tells Ben to head to a remote Alaskan base "not on any map" for repairs, EDI in tow. He comes in hot and survives a crash landing. Cummings has had Dr. Orbit brought there, and orders him to wipe EDI's memory. The base personnel turn out to be under Cumming's thumb. Ben survives an attempt on his life by the "medic" tending his injuries, makes his way to the hangar, and in a blaze of gunfire, stops the EDI memory-wipe. He goes inside EDI, blows open the hangar doors with a missile, and flies off in EDI to rescue Kara while Dr. Orbit also escapes. Kara has made it to no-man's land on the Korean border, but it looks like her luck has run out as she is pinned down by enemy fire. Ben and EDI arrive just in time; Ben exits EDI to kiss Kara; EDI, out of missiles, launches itself into a N.Korean helicopter gunship to save the lovers, and they make their way to safety.
This one is my favourite, couze it adapt perfectly from the game itself. You will notice there are a lot of similarity between the game and the movie. Red ties and the black siuts. Perfect.
We start on a rainy street in London, where Interpol officer Mike Whittier (Dougray Scott) is just arriving home after a continually frustrating case. He goes inside and turns on a couple lights and fixes himself a drink. The lights fail, and he heads for his home office to try and fix it. He enters the office and someone says, "Nice family," commenting on the pictures. Whittier turn and sees the ruthless hitman known only to those who know as Agent 47 (Timothy Olyphant, who far surpasses expectations). 47 assures Whittier that if he wanted to kill him than he would have done it that morning as he left for work, but instead he just wants to talk. He warns Whittier that depending on his answers he can either die or keep living. He then proceeds to ask Whittier if he thinks he (Whittier) is a good man, and what can make a good man kill....
We jump back in time three months, to the Niger River Valley. A group of African gangsters are bringing in an old man -- presumably someone who didn't deliver -- to see their warlord. The man starts weeping, and the warlord notices something on his chest and asks one of the toughs about it. When the tough says that this is how he was delivered, we zoom out and see Agent 47 watching from a distant rooftop. He looks at a remote in his hand and presses a button, and the man, the druglord, and everyone around them blow sky-high. Not long after, we see Whittier and his partner, Jenkins (Michael Offei) arguing with the Nigerian police about 47 and how they need cooperation. We also find out that Whittier has been chasing 47 for three years and that he has connected 47 to over one hundred kills across the globe. Meanwhile, we see 47 in a bar in St. Petersburg where a woman named June is unsuccessfully trying to hook up with him. He bids her good night and heads back for his room, pausing only to put something in a nearby ice chest. After going into his room and setting a door bomb in case of unwanted guests, 47 calls his agency contact Diana on the computer. She tells him about the next job -- Mikhail Belicoff, president of Russia (Ulrich Thomsen). Diana advises him that the person who hired them wants to make it public, and 47 gets a look on his face but still agrees to the mission.
The next day, Belikoff is giving a speech regarding the upcoming election when a sniper bullet of 47's suddenly takes him out. 47 stows the sniper rifle in his case and runs off, leaving just before the case blows up, eliminating any evidence. That night though, he finds out two things -- Belikoff is still alive (meaning he won't get paid) and there was a witness, a little Russian girl. 47 is furious (as much as he ever gets) and tells Diana that if he is being set up by her, he will kill everyone in the agency. He then demands to know who ordered the hit and instead of going over the computer, Diana actually calls him and says it was.....Belikoff? Things go from bad to worse though when a team led by Whittier shows up to bag 47. However, he makes quick work out of all of them with two pistols he had stowed in the ice chest earlier before jumping out the window and into the Neva River. During the rundown, Whittier chews out the general who told the troops to go ahead, but is stopped by the arrival of FSB agent Yuri Marklow (Robert Knepper), who isn't too happy with Interpol doing a manhunt without their authorization. Also, when sifting through the evidence, Mike and Jenkins find a case of 47s containing a few small bottles with the symbol for the organization on them and a cross, which they eventually find has a Latin inscription of "Open the door to the lord and he shall guide your path forever" (or something like that) on it.
Elsewhere, 47 has acquired a new suit (his regular suit from the games plus a snazzy black trenchcoat) and is heading to track down the witness, Nika Boronina (Olga Kurylenko). He finds her in a fancy hotel and after tricking his way in with some flowers he claims are from Belikoff (she's his whore, basically), he takes her somewhere damp and dirty and eventually she reveals that Belikoff used doubles, and that's how he's still alive -- it was a double that 47 killed. For a moment 47 almost kills her, but then he decides not to and tells her that the person he killed to get close to her was going to kill her, and that he was working for Belikoff, which means she's safer with 47. The pair move to get out of the city, with 47 solving the transportation problem by always throwing Nika in the trunk. They head for a train station, but Whittier and the rest are already there. Unbeknownst to them, though, is the presence of another Hitman. 47 notices him though, and after stowing Niki somewhere that isn't a trunk, he steals a uniform from a passing soccer/football team member and makes sure he is seen by the hitter. After a chase through the back paths of the station, the two eventually confront each other and face off. Both are equally skilled, but 47 is just a little quicker and manages to pin the guy down. After asking why they're after him and being told it's a hit on him, he kills the guy just when Niki pops up, having disobeyed 47's order to stay. As if that's not enough, 47 hears someone else. He investigates and comes face to face to face with three more hitmen. They all pull guns on each other, then smile and pull swords instead. Two of them go down pretty quick, but the last one is able to hold out until they're back on the tracks and 47 is choking him to death. That accomplished, the two make for the exit when Whittier and Jenkins show up. After putting Jenkins out (but not down), 47 is about to kill Mike when Nika says, "Don't", which 47 reluctantly agrees to. They finally leave, and next we see our Interpol boys getting patched up and told by Yuri (essentially) "Cooperate with us or get out of our country." Mike opts for option three -- telling Yuri off and planting a bug on him.
A little while later, Nika and 47 are hiding out in the mountains and not enjoying each other's company. While there, 47 is working on finding the next step in the trail. For that, he arranges a meeting with Agent Smith Jamison, a CIA contact of his. Using Nika, he gets the name of a guy connected to Belikoff's arms-dealing brother Udre (Henry Ian Cusick), a Mr. Price. 47 also tells Smith that he'll need a favor from him, but we don't see/hear what the favor is. The two head into Italy and start to warm up each other, with Nika mentioning how when she was a little girl she always wanted to have her own vineyard in France to grow wine in. 47 just nods and soon, the pair are in an Italian-looking city (don't remember where) and he is deciding to be nice to her, taking her shopping for a new dress and even getting them reservations at a rather nice restaurant that our Mr. Price just happens to frequent (why, that's a coincidence!). After some sneaking around (including a shot from above and behind him that could come right from the second game), 47 comes back out and tells Nika that they have dinner reservations at eight. Meanwhile, we check back in with Whittier and Jenkins, who are busy listening in on Yuri. They hear him make a phone call to someone after sending other people out of his office, and from what they can hear they realize he's talking to Belikoff. Before they can get more, two cars drive up saying that they are to escort the two of them to the airport and out of the country, which Mike and Jenkins reluctantly comply with.
That night, 47 and Nika are out dining, and for a wonder Nika is behaving herself. As a waiter passes destined for Price (who 47 has a clear view of), 47 grabs the drink and slips something into it without anyone noticing. He and Nika make some amusing small talk while she works on the wine when suddenly Price is violently sick. He heads to the bathroom and after a couple minutes, 47 follows, telling her to get the check, since they'll be leaving soon. He goes into the bathroom and gets patted down, but they don't find anything. Inside, Price is just coming out and 47 goes into the stall. He pulls out a silenced pistol from the tank and dispatches the guard and knocks Price out with a little needle sedative thing. He yells for help and the other guards come in and get killed. Not long after, he and Nika head back to the hotel room where she drunkenly tries to have sex with him, and he manages to knock her out with the needle thing (though I doubt it was really necessary). A little later, we see him arriving with Price's money at Udre's club/hangout. Things are going well at first, but someone soon whispers in Udre's ear, "That's not Price." The mood shifts and (more) guns are drawn, but 47 manages to take out everyone but Udre, who he says he wants to use to deliver a message to Belikoff. A shaking Udre asks what it is, and 47 raises his pistol and shoots him in the head.
Some time after that, on a train near the Russia/Turkey border. 47 tells Nika that he has to leave her, and gives her instructions to get off at the next stop and stay with the crowd, and that one day he'll find her (not romantically I think, but what the hell). Before he leaves, she finally asks his name, and he tells her that where he was raised they got numbers instead of names and gives her his. They go their separate ways and the next scene is in Russia, where Mike has just arrived back, although under extreme supervision. Meanwhile, we see Yuri meeting with the real Belikoff in a morgue and Belikoff admits that he is tired of hiding behind doubles, although it is worth it just to stay in office and be re-elected. That night, we see Yuri working late when he is suddenly captured by 47, who throws him in a tub surrounded by timers designed to go off at a specific time tomorrow, during Udre's funeral. He tells Yuri to order Belikoff to be killed when the walkie comes online after the timer runs out. If he doesn't three thousand volts will be pumped into the water, frying Yuri. Before he leaves, 47 plops a rubber duck in the tub and warns Yuri that no one will hear him scream for help from where he is. That done, he heads for the funeral.
At the church, we see many troops all over the place, with Mike moving among them. Inside, Belikoff is giving a eulogy for his brother as Yuri watches on TV and screams into the walkie for help. The seconds count down and the walkie finally comes online. Yuri orders his man to take out Belikoff as the timer goes off. The sniper fires into the specially installed bulletproof glass shield. Belikoff is removed before the glass breaks and we see 47 take off after him and Mike go in after 47. A cadre of troops are escorting Belikoff out when one of them opens fire on the others and takes Belikoff to a small chamber nearby. Outside, Mike is being told that they can't find Belikoff or 47 when he suddenly remembers the cross, which a bishop tells him is the key to the archbishops quarters, in the tallest tower. Inside the room, 47 is confronting Belikoff. The two engage in a rather calm discussion considering, and Belikoff offers 47 even more money to just walk away and he will call the whole thing off, clearing 47's name and letting him go back to his life. Instead, 47 just shoots him in the head and calmly waits for Mike and everyone else to show up and arrest him. They load him into a car and are taking him to the airport when suddenly a bunch of Homeland Security and CIA guys pull up, led by Agent Smith. They say that they want to talk to Mike about him being suspected of terrorism, but Mike points out that they're busy transporting a dangerous fugitive to Interpol HQ. Smith calmly asks, "What prisoner?" and we see that 47 has escaped once again. Mike looks around in frustration and Smith puts on his very best "oops" face, and everybody heads off. As they do, Smith glances a this cell phone and sees that he has received a text message. He looks at it and it says simply, "Now we're even." He smiles and closes the phone.
Back in London, a frustrated Mike is arriving home when he finds all the lights out and 47 waiting for him. They talk, and Mike answers the question of a good man killing by saying that he loves his family, and he will do anything to keep them safe, including killing. 47 nods and points to the floor, where one of the dead Hitmen from earlier is lying. 47 tells Mike that the shots were fired from the gun he keeps in the upstairs closet, and that if he keeps his office door closed for the next five hours until the kids leave for school and the wife leaves for work, there's no need for them to find out anything or be exposed to any of this. He turns to leave and then pauses and says, "Oh, and Agent Whittier....I really hope we don't ever see each other again."
Some time after all this, we see Nika picking up her mail and going for a walk in.....somewhere. As she goes through, she notices something from a real estate agency. Curious, she opens it and finds that she is now the owner of a moderate-sized vineyard in France. She looks around hoping to catch a glimpse of 47, but sees no one. A couple rooftops away and fifty feet above her though, we see 47 looking at her through a sniper scope. He looks at the dead body of another hitter lying at his feet, smiles grimly, and says, "I told you to leave her alone. You should have listened."

Film ini secara keseluruhan dan alur ceritanya sudah oke banget, satu-satunya yang kurang adalah para tokoh utamanya terlalu heboh, cenderung hiperaktif dan malah jadi aneh. Faktor ini yang malah akhirnya membuat kita berpikir ada masalah apa sih dengan para tokohnya? Karena sebenarnya tidak ada masalah yang besar disitu, walaupun alur ceritanya sih cukup asik, hanya saja terasa sepi karena cuman ada 3 cowok yang teriak sono sini sok heboh. Coba ada tokoh ceweknya.
